Spring has Sprung, Summer has Hit, and Holy Crap, it's Almost July
We're not dead, we're just resting...
Wandering Hounds HQ has been a bit quiet. The senior correspondent decided to do something silly and ran a 5k... and got wicked plantar faciitis. Boys and Girls, if you train on a dirt road, then race on pavement, you're gonna have a bad time.
Adventures have been of the local variety while the foot heals, but it's almost back to normal and the running and adventures can return!
That's not to say it hasn't been nice around here. We got a few trips in to the big city, and even a few short hikes in the area.
Even here in the Small Town, we have plenty of good walkies and things to sniff. Our daily walkies yield plenty of opportunities to sniff things, chase squirrels, boss around other dogs, and make friends.
But once the weather warmed up, we headed straight to the river! She may be a hound, but she's a water hound!
Wandering Hounds will be back in a few weeks. There will be one BIG problem with our next adventure...
"No Dogs Allowed."
What the hell kind of savagery is this? Actually, out on the islands of Lake George, managing people is hard enough, nevertheless dog owners who don't curb their dogs or clean up after them. It's very small parcels of land that are used very heavily. So while I'll miss the Editor in Chief, it really is for the best to preserve our opportunities to visit these places.
On the plus side, the Senior Correspondent will be bringing this mystical machine that has been sitting on his bookshelf for a few years. It is a device that captures images like a digital camera, but requires with weird stuff called... wait, I can remember this...
Oh yeah! FILM!
That's right, the old student model 35mm Vivitar is heading back out in to the field for what will almost certainly be a complete failure. It will be joined by a few rolls of Kodak (remember them?) Ektar 100. I was too chicken to get slide film. Don't worry, the Fuji is coming too.
