Pretty Leaves: Spruce Peak (again) 10-6-18
So we’re, yet again, behind things here at Wandering Hounds Central. So let’s hit up some foliage now that it’s about to start snowing. The Editor-in-Chief is a big fan of fall and spring, when it isn’t too hot or cold, and there are plenty of sniffs to sniff due to all the decomposing or regrowing flora and fauna.
Back on Columbus Day weekend, we wound up right back where, in our last post, we were denied pretty pictures. We got a later start, so no sunrise, but maybe it could still be good. As we made our way up, the G noticed something on the trail…
Yup, Totes and his friends joined us for this little adventure, which in hindsight was well over 2,000 feet of climbing and 7 miles… whoops.
We stumbled upon what might be the coolest set of stairs on any trail I’ve ever seen.
The clouds were rolling in yet again, but this time, they didn’t disappoint. I kinda like this picture.
Of course there were summit flops and liftoff ears.
Gonna try to make a dent in the post backlog while we have the unending weeks of October and November rain. Hopefully this will turn to snow soon and we can start having some fun again. Until next time!
